This beautiful young girl in Bagan has a heavy fringe all the way around her head and a bun on the top, which is very different from most of the women in the villages. Apparently before marriage, girls hiar are cut like this and once they are married they will have long hair tied up in a bun at the back instead of on top of the head. This painting was inspired by the purity of her simple elegance and the curve of her figure echoed by her black and wavy hair.
