Every Sunday the Shans travel down to the Inle Lake area to sell their produce. They wear traditional black clothes topped off by colourful turbans. The contrast of the black and white clothes, the vibrant headdresses, and the colours of the fruits and vegetables all form a wonderful picture and serve as an inspiration for this painting.
